MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam

(Pronounced "Double-Zeta Gundam").
Essentially the successor to the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam, the ZZ Gundam is no less than obsurdly powerful. Anaheim Electronics designed and built the ZZ Gundam to be the new heavy-hitter for the AEUG, which was being worn down considerably by Neo-Zeon forces at the time. It was delivered to the space cruiser Argama, and given to the newly-recruited Judau Ashta (who had until then been piloting the Zeta Gundam, as its original pilot, Kamille Bidan, had suffered an almost total mind-wipe at the hands of Paptimus Scirocco).

The ZZ Gundam is a true marvel, both in performance and technology. It utilizes much of the technology used in the Zeta Gundam, but that's not all. Perhaps as a sort of homage to the original RX-78-2 Gundam, the ZZ Gundam's structure incorporates a modular "core-block" system. This allows the ZZ Gundam to be split into two independent, flight-capable modules: the "Core Top" and the "Core Base". The Core Top is composed of the ZZ Gundam's upper torso and arms, and is capable of both space and atmospheric flight. The Core Base is the ZZ Gundam's lower torso and legs, and carries more of the ZZ Gundam's heavy weapons. The two are joined by a Neo-Core Fighter (another homage to the original Gundam), and the combination forms the ZZ Gundam. The ZZ Gundam can also be transformed into a heavy fighter-bomber called the "G-Fortress", which brings the full arsenal of the ZZ Gundam to bear in space and atmospheric combat. In all forms, the ZZ Gundam is extremely maneuverable, as it has 38 total thrusters and maneuvering jets.

The ZZ Gundam's weapons are numerous and astonishingly powerful. The primary weapon is a double-barreled beam rifle, composed of the forward section of the Core Top. This is supplemented by a pair of massive "Hyper Beam Sabers" stored on the back, which can be used as super-powerful beam cannons if left on the backpack. Additionally, there are two 21-tube missile launchers on the backpack, which can fire simultaneously in a literal hailstorm of munitions. The standard vulcan guns are mounted on the head, and the Neo Core Fighter carries its own complement of small weapons.

The finishing touch to the ZZ Gundam is the devastating "High Mega Cannon", which is mounted in the head, with the red crest of the forehead acting as the barrel. This weapon is powerful enough to completely wipe out several enemy suits at once, but uses so much power that the ZZ Gundam is almost completely drained in the process. Because of this, the ZZ Gundam's effective combat duration is limited.

Just as a side note, the red fins on the arms are essentially shields for the ZZ Gundam, but can be used as slicing weapons in a pinch.
