This is my entry in the "Mobile Suit Gundam: UC 0099 Unicorn" semi-contest at
[link] by a fellow gundam fanartist called Lalahsghost. Basically, it's a no-holds barred attempt by all of us Gundam artists to try and design new mobile suits to fit into the timeline of this new series (which will be released in novel and manga form only as far as I know).
The Jegan III is a step up from the standard Jegan in almost every aspect. Because it is such a dramatic improvement in performance over the original Jegan, it was assigned a new model number and series designation (hence the '94' and 'III' in its name).
The Jegan III sports about 25% more armor than the original Jegan, and mounts it over critical areas (such as the hip and ankle joints). It also carries two of the standard Jegan-type shields, only they have been fitted directly onto the shoulder armor of either arm. Each shield holds two small rocket launchers, with each rocket launcher carrying two rockets. Two multi-fire rocket pods have been attached to the shoulders as well, and each carry more than 20 rounds of ammunition. In place of the one vulcan gun on the original Jegan's head, the Jegan III has two large vulcan guns built into the torso. The Jegan III also mounts two grenade launchers in its forearms. For close-range combat, the Jegan III has two beam sabers at its disposal, stored in recharge racks on the left and right skirt armor plates. The Jegan III's primary weapon is a standard beam rifle, identical to the the one wielded by the original Jegan.
The Jegan III's deployment was never intended to match that of the popular and inexpensive RGM-89, and was only produced in small numbers and assigned to special units in the Earth Federation Space Forces.
