MSM-07 Z'Gok Classic

Description

For the majority of the One-Year-War, the only companies developing mobile suits for the Principality of Zeon were Zeonic and Zimmad. In the later months of the war, a new manufacturer emerged, calling itself MIP Company. Their first product was the MSM-07 Z'Gok. MIP took its time in watching Zeonic and Zimmad's progress in amphibious mobile suit development, so by the time MIP began its own program, they were well aware of what worked and what didn't. As a result of this, the Z'Gok was a significant step above all previous amphibious models.

To reduce the Z'Gok's weight and thus improve its mobility, MIP designers opted for a fan-driven air cooling system instead of the bulky (and very heavy) ballast tanks previously used in the Gogg. They mounted two large hydrojet thrusters on the back, and one smaller jet in the pelvis. These could be used both in and out of water, allowing the Z'Gok to jet-jump through the air, as well as propell itself through the water at speeds of up to 103 knots. For weaponry, the Z'Gok mounted two Mega Particle Cannons, one in either forearm, and six 240mm rocket launchers ringing the top of the Z'Gok's dome-shaped head. Each of the six rocket launchers was fed by its own internal magazine, which held a total of five rounds. This generous amount of ammunition meant that the Z'Gok could participate in battle for a good deal longer than most other mobile suits. For hand-to-hand combat, the Z'Gok has a pair of clawed hands, which can shred enemy armor to pieces. Given enough initial force, these claws can rip a whole completely through a GM's midsection (as was demonstrated by Char Aznable during the attack on Jaburo Base).

The Z'Gok was a highly successful unit, and was deployed throughout the world during the One-Year-War. Some units actually survived the war, and at least one ended up in the collection of a wealthy aristocrat on one of the many space colonies serving the Neo-Zeon movement nearly 10 years later. The unit in question was outfitted with a 360-degree panoramic cockpit and improved movement system to make it a match for even the newest mobile suits.
