LM111E02 Gun-EZ

Description

While the LM312V04 Victory Gundam was designed to be the "flagship" unit of the League Militaire, it was too expensive and complex to be manufactured in large enough quantities to fill the need for anti-Zanscare forces. To fill the gap, League Militaire engineers simultaneously designed the LM111E02 Gun-EZ. The Gun-EZ is a relatively inexpensive mass-production unit that, while lacking the complex transformation and docking systems of the Victory Gundam, has a lot in common with it.

The Gun-EZ's weaponry is much like that of the Victory Gundam's. It carries the same beam rifle, and mounts the same twin vulcan guns in the head. In a compartment in its right shoulder, the Gun-EZ stores a single beam saber. The left shoulder houses a 2-tube "multi-launcher". While the Gun-EZ does not mount a fixed beam shield emitter, it can be equipped with one on either forearm. For heavy firepower, the Gun-EZ can also carry a powerful beam bazooka.

The Gun-EZ, while years ahead of the EFSF's mobile suits, was still inferior to many of the Zanscare Empire's machines (especially the experimental ZMT series suits). One elite unit of Gun-EZs, nicknamed the "Shrike Team", was composed entirely of young female pilots, all of then piloting Gun-EZs. Early on in the ground war, they arrived in time to protect Uso Evin and the Victory Gundam as they headed to the Gibraltar mass-driver catapault that would put them in space. One by one, the Shrike team members would be killed in battle, with each one's death leaving a permanent mark on Uso's psyche, and slowly wearing him down. The Shrike Team lived up to their reputation as a "suicide squad", as nearly all of them died during the course of the war.
